Spanish River Boys and Girls Sweep Park Vista Invitational

In addition to the Miami-Dade County Championships, the Park Vista Invitational was filled with talented South Florida athletes that displayed their hard work this past weekend.

Girls Race:

Spanish River junior, Rylee Pustilnik, won the Park Vista Cobra Country Invitational in a time of 18:29, nearly 25 seconds faster than she was last year at this meet.

This past track season, Pustilnik was strong and consistent in her performance. She bettered her 1600m and 3200m PR's to 5:06 and 10:54. At New Balance Nationals in June, Pustilnik ran a 17:55 for the 5k on the track.

Pustilnik was followed closely by Pia Beaulieu, a sophomore out of Boca Raton. Beaulieu ran a time of 18:57 as her season opener. Eleanor Tymorek, out of Saint Andrew's, and Mia Rodriguez, out of The King's Academy, finished third and forth with PR's of 19:00 and 19:13.

Spanish River took the team win with Pustilnik, Zoe Pustilnik (21:05), and Victoria Siqueira (21:07) leading the way for the victory.

Boys Race:

Isaias De la Puente, won the boys race in a time of 16:30, a very strong season opener from the Forest Hill senior. With a 15:44 5k PR, this is best opener of De la Puente's career compared to years prior.

De la Puente was followed closely by Joseph Anderton (16:33), Thomas Weiler (16:36), and Zac Vincennie (16:41). This pack of three ran together for the majority of the race with the pack separating during the final stretch.

Spanish River junior, Zac Vincennie, led the Spanish River boys along with teammates: Will Noonan (16:48), Isaac Leb (17:20), and Ethan Bar-Nur (17:40) to the 65 point victory.

The Spanish River boys and girls swept the Park Vista Cobra Country XC Invitational, leading with team averages that beat the field by over a minute and with significant point margins.
