Workout Wednesday: Jasmine Moore And Mansfield Lake Ridge

Jasmine Moore is one of the best triple jumpers of this decade. She ranks as the seventh-best triple jumper all-time and has the 13th-best jump all-time with her jump of 42 feet 9.5 inches from the Texas Tech Under Armour High School Classic. Moore holds the indoor sophomore (42-6.75) and junior (42-9.5) class triple jump national records, and both the freshman (42-1.75) and sophomore (43-7.25) outdoor national class records. She has said she wants to be known as the best high school jumper in history by the time she graduates.

We caught up with Moore and her Mansfield Lake Ridge teammates during the middle of January to see what they are doing to start their outdoor season off on a high note. Mansfield Lake Ridge normally has their first meet around the second weekend in February.

Last year the team finished second at the Texas Class 5A University Interscholastic League State meet with 78 points. Moore led the team in points winning the long jump, triple jump, and helping the 4x100m team place second and the 4x400m place fourth.
