Vermont high school track and field athletes posted several personal records at meets during the week of April 20.
Willow Thomas (Harwood Union, Duxbury) ran 13.05 in the 100 meters at the Essex HS TF Invitational on April 22, improving from her previous best of 13.55 set in April 2026. The mark ranks #4 in Vermont among 325 athletes and #1 among freshmen, while setting a new Harwood Union school record. Thomas placed third in a field of 100 competitors and also set a personal record in the 200 meters, running 27.41 to improve from 27.99.
Adaline Gould (U-32, Montpelier) clocked 13.32 in the 100 meters at the same meet, dropping from her previous personal record of 13.69. The sophomore ranks #11 in the state among 325 athletes and #3 among sophomores, finishing eighth of 100 competitors. Gould also recorded a personal best in the 200 meters, running 28.55 to improve from 29.01.
Barrett Eckert (Colchester) ran 11.61 in the boys' 100 meters at Essex, improving from his previous mark of 11.85. The sophomore ranks #12 in Vermont among 348 athletes and #2 among sophomores, placing fifth of 92 competitors.
Alexander Poczobut (Spaulding, Barre) threw 140-1 in the discus at Essex, improving from his previous best of 124-7.5 set in April 2026. The senior ranks #1 in Vermont among 144 athletes and won the event with 52 competitors.
Mason Fagnant (Champlain Valley Union, Hinesburg) ran 11.47 in the 100 meters at Essex, improving from 11.67. He ranks #7 in the state among 348 athletes and placed third of 92 competitors. Fagnant also set a personal record in the 200 meters, running 23.56 to improve from 24.40.
Salvador Doyle (Montpelier) ran 9:56.33 in the 3000 meters at Essex, improving from 10:14.74 set in April 2026. The freshman ranks #11 in Vermont among 57 athletes and #1 among freshmen, placing fifth of 18 competitors.
Mollie Mislak (U-32, Montpelier) ran 12.73 in the 100 meters at Essex, improving from 13.00 set in April 2026. She ranks #2 in Vermont among 325 athletes and placed second of 100 competitors. Mislak also set personal records in the 100-meter hurdles (16.23, improving from 17.27) and 300-meter hurdles (49.30, improving from 49.37).
