Breaking It All Down - Full Manhattan Invitational Recap

Girls Easterns - Individuals

Recap: As is typical at Manhattan, the race was decided in the backhills.  Across the bridge the first time, the lead pack contained all the favorites.  As the short hills began to oscillate under the runners legs, separation began to occur.  That's where Abby Loveys (Randolph, NJ) would find her opening, and pounce.  Just past 1mile, she threw in a surge, breaking the field.  Only Brooke Rauber (Tully) was able to respond, but even then, it was too late.  The next time the field saw the bridge, Loveys' lead was definitive.  Pushing to the line, Loveys would cross at 14:03 exactly, good for a new NJ Record at VCP, and the 8th fastest time ever run.  Rauber would come across next, with a #25 AT mark.
