The Boys

On the Track:

Drew Griffith (Butler) could make history by breaking four minutes in the Boys Mile this weekend. For a full preview of the race, read more here.

Jonathan Hess (Lewisburg) and Kevin Sherry (Coudersport) will be the ones to watch in the Boys 3k

Hess and Sherry last met at the indoor state meet, where they finished 2-3 in the 3k, with Hess running 8:33.34 followed by Sherry in 8:34.60. These two will undoubtedly push one another to compete with some strong competitors from across the country.

In the Field:

Hayden Smith (Union-Allegheny Clarion Valley), the current PA No.1 and US No.6 at 6-11, is the top seed in the Boys High Jump this weekend.

Smith has what it takes to win the historic event after demonstrating his true potential this past indoor season, during which he won a state title and the Adidas Track Nationals title.

The Boys Pole Vault will be a highly anticipated event bringing out PA's top-ranked vaulters.

Drake Risser (Lower Dauphin), the indoor state champion and current PA No.1 at 16-3, will headline the deep field.

Breckin Swope (East Pennsboro) and Mason Bucks (Palmyra) will also compete. Swope is the current PA No.2 at 16-0, while Bucks is the PA No.3 at 15-6.

Don't overlook Jayden Packer (Shikellamy), Nathan Lutz (Altoona) and the many other PA vaulters set to compete. Any one of these boys has the potential to take the crown.

Be on the lookout for Anthony Conrey (Conwell Egan) and Jeremiah Hargrove (Trinity) in the boys Long Jump.

Jordan Sowell (Cheltenham) is the top seed in the Boys Triple Jump

Sowell, the PA No.1 and US No.8 triple jumper at 49-4 has the potential to win at the Penn Relays after taking 9th last year.

Also, be on the lookout for Joachim Johnson (Episcopal Academy) and CJ Simbiri (Delaware County Christian).

Brady Mider (Berks Catholic), along with Alphonso Koukou (Episcopal Academy) and Colin Melhorn (Selinsgrove), are the standouts in the Boys Shot Put

Mider, the current PA No.1, has thrown a personal best of 61-1 this season. Koukou and Melhorn trail at 59-3.75 and 58-5.75, respectively.

Jacob Tannenbaum (Central Bucks West) is the only PA thrower competing in the Boys Discus this weekend. Tannenbaum is the current PA No.19 with a season-best of 157-10.

We should see a PA champion in the Boys Javelin. State leaders Bronson Krainak (Danville Area) and Lincoln Huber (Central Columbia) are the top seeds going into the Penn Relays.

Krainak is the current US No.3 at 211-8, while Hbuer is the US No.4 at 211-1.

Also, be on the lookout for Elias Chase (Avon Grove) and Thomas Lloyd (Whitehall)
