CHANGES TO THE WOODS TRAIL AT THETFORD ACADEMY

Thetford Academy is experiencing a number of physical changes in the 2009-10 school year. We have broken ground on a new building project (science renovation/performing arts center/gym). A new athletic field in the northwest corner of the property alters the final quarter mile of the race to include an incline around the new field before descending to the finish line (as was the case in 2007 and 2008). The new construction area is fenced off and will require that the finish line be moved to the midfield area of the soccer field (approximately 50-60 meters out from the original finish line). This will shorten the course, but it will still be about 40 meters over 5 kilometers.

We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation over these recent years as our school makes these3 improvements to our facilities. The trail will also be renovated to accommodate the influence of the new construction. This work will will be completed later this fall and be ready for the 2010 running season. This fall, we look forward to seeing you on October 3rd.
